RIYL: spacey ambient jazz

Label: Project Mooncircle

“All these memories lay in the depths of my inner sea. It‘s surface reflects pictures of all the worlds that I want to dive back into, over and over again.”
– Takeleave | Nicolas De Araújo Peixoto

Peixoto is a Berlin-based musician, DJ and producer, and according to his newest endeavor as Takeleave, he’s a pretty damn good songwriter too.  Inner Sea is 12 tracks of colorful instrumentals blending genres from all over and creating new ones along the way.  Crossing cosmic organ tones and ear-tingling field recordings with hip hop beats and spacey ambience, Peixoto is determined to fully realize his imagination, dreams and faded memories into the music.  Newest track Habitat enlists an eerily beautiful Rhodes organ in the same way as Manzarek’s jazzy fills in Riders on the Storm, swaying and oscillating along neighboring synths and textures for a truly immersive listening experience.  It’s on repeat all day.

Apparently, there are only 96 copies of this on light blue marbled vinyl, so if you’re into this, I wouldn’t wait long.  Check out Habitat below and grab some wax after the ‘buy’ link, and remember that these are shipping from Germany, so the higher price will reflect that for all stateside purchases.
