I somehow overlooked this when it released back in June, so my apologies. Gold Beach is anything but – the sands are as black as the air surrounding the woeful instrumentation. The wistful waltz across the craggy shore practically allows cigarette smoke to come out of the speakers. It’s like the worst thing in your life is about to occur. You know it’s going to happen, and you can’t do anything about it. You wish it would just happen already, but it can’t – it needs to take its sweet time. The dread you feel from the wait is the worst part of it all, though – your imagination is your archenemy in this cosmic joke you’re currently living out. There’s no refrain from the gloom on Jørgensen’s end – the dissonance increases in strength as the time drags its feet along your psychic surface. The gold beach isn’t gold as much as it is black and gray. Check out the Bandcamp stream of Gold Beach below and see what you think of it. Cheers!
