Lisa & Kroffe’s Norrfjället (perhaps our Scandinavian comrade Sindre knows how to pronounce this) is equal parts Star Trek, Boards of Canada, Ennio Morricone and noir. You could say all the acts I mentioned in the prior sentence all have a cosmic element to them. If you take a look at the lovely minimalistic cover, you’ll notice it looks like a solar eclipse or something you’d see on a modern sci-fi film poster. It’s safe to say Lisa & Kroffe have definitely nailed their theme. Norrfjället has the gait of a drunken camper wandering around in a dark forest with a smile painted on his face – you’re merely in this “voyeur” position for lack of a better word. You want to engage in this joy but there’s something off-kilter about the scene. You see there’s hope emanating in the surroundings, but you can’t help but feel like there’s something sinister in the darkness… Listen to Norrfjället below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
