Jimmy Whoo captures the essence of the city between 2 AM and 6 AM. ¬†The bars are closed and the streets are cold. ¬†Hotel room after-parties are dwindling down to the last bottle of champagne, the drifters stand next to a barrel fire under a bridge downtown, a married woman slinks out of her two-story¬†house in the suburbs wearing a cocktail dress, and a kid in his late teens¬†holding a suitcase shifts nervously at a bus stop. ¬†Nothing wholesome happens in these dimly lit hours of the day, but it’s here where you’ll find the best stories.
Jimmy Whoo’s cult favorite Motel Music began in 2015 with Part 1 of the series, a collection of seductive electro r&b cuts led by Jimmy Whoo’s breathy croon. ¬†Some of the tracks were just inches from vaporwave, utilizing¬†vintage synths for maximum nostalgia. ¬†The first few available tracks from Part II of Whoo’s¬†series continue down the¬†same¬†sultry paths as the first. ¬†Eery keyboard leads, pulsing drum beats, saxophone solos,¬†and swoons¬†aplenty. ¬†Fans of Italians Do It Better’s roster¬†and the Drive soundtrack will love this guy. ¬†Check out the new tracks below and grab a limited copy of the album after the ‘buy’ link.
