RIYL: Ambient Soundscapes. Loren Dent, Jannick Schou, Chris Herbert

Label: Mexican Summer

I’m not too familiar with Gregg Kowalsky, however, after reading up on him and his projects, I feel this definitely deserves a post on slyvinyl. Gregg is known as a composer for orchestral works, film soundtracks, on-stage productions, and art installations, where he crafts expressive and enthralling synth songs. He was one part of two of the band Date Palms, which delivered highly texturized soundscapes that captivate and enthrall. This is his first solo release in 8 years entitled L’Orange, L’Orange where he provides gentle drone music, escalating tones that linger until abruptly coming to an end.
