I think I can finish out the week writing about Chemical Tapes releases, and then some – this label is one of the best finds I’ve come across in a minute. Fischerle & Micromelancolié’s Moulding is a chilling take on ambient loops. It was released in the dead of winter, so I suppose that’s to be expected. Moulding is a hulking, imposing, storm cell that you can see just breaching the horizon. The album builds and builds upon itself, and you’re waiting for that sky to be engulfed in gray. I know our friends in the southern hemisphere are going through winter as we speak, so now is the perfect time to pick up this album. For us up north, we’re more or less half a year shy but this album (maybe we should call it an EP?) will work any time of the year – winter’s just prime time. Listen to Moulding below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
