Istanbul ambient and electronic artist Ekin Üzeltüzenci, otherwise known as Eken Fil in the studio, has an ability to create soundscapes that feel both weightless and endless. Similar to Julianna Barwick’s acapella arrangements submerged in reverb or Liz Harris’ otherworldly atmospheres in Grouper, Eken Fil’s cavernous production is nothing short of mesmerizing. Organ drones, field recordings and Ekin’s hauntingly beautiful vocals blend flawlessly here, and are a perfect addition to the evergrowing ambient section on your vinyl shelves. You just can’t have enough of this stuff, can you?
