When he isn’t putting out records, multi instrumentalist Colin Stetson has been a touring member of The Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre and Bon Iver and has recorded with everyone from Tom Waits to David Byrne to Godspeed You! Black Emperor.  Over the past two decades, Stetson has built a distinct style in the artist community as a saxophonist, and is also well-versed in the clarinet, cornet, french horn and flute.  Needless to say, when he’s ready to put out another full-length album, it’s most certainly going to be worth a listen.
The tone that Stetson can get from a saxophone is uncanny.  He can make it sound like an overdriving guitar or even a synthesizer, creating atmospheres and moods that some producers need an entire batch of software to accomplish.  His newest album, All This I Do For Glory, continues down his path of ambient experimentation.  If you loved how Tim Hecker transformed his piano into an abyss of noise in Ravedeath, 1972, then Colin Stetson is worth your time and energy.  Check out his newest single below and grab a copy of the new record on white vinyl after the ‘buy’ link.  There’s a chance that quite a few copies could end up at your local indie stores, too, so give those folks a call if you don’t want to pay international shipping.
Limited to 1000 white vinyl copies (we have a limited amount of copies for this store only, the rest will be available in all good indie shops).
