RIYL: Four Tet, LCD Soundsystem, Modeselektor
Label: Merge Records
Where has the time gone? Caribou’s last release was 2014, 6 years ago, but now we are graced with a new release, Suddenly set to hit the shelve of record stores February 28th. The single, “Home” is everything we would expect from Dan Snaith and more, with atmospheric strings and drowsy vocals all over a hip hop beat. The second single, “You and I” is very different from “Home” with more of an dated feel coming from the synthesizer sounds and straight ahead vocals. This entire album is looking to be a smattering of different sounds. There are two limited versions of this, as far as I can see, which will be hard to choose from for collectors. See the links below and grab your version with the greatest collector dilemma to date: More limited or numbered.
