RIYL: Orville Peck, Daniel Romano, Ornament
Label: Hand Drawn Dracula
Canadian singer/songwriter Kyle Connolly has had his mitts in a slew of cookie jars. A co-founder of bands Wish as well as The Seams and most notably the bass player for Orville Peck, Connolly has refined and revisioned his voice many times over within the vast and ambiguous genre of alt country. This year, we see Kyle venturing out solo with a full-length titled On Arrival, 10 tracks of breezy Laurel Canyon grooves and carefree Americana. His style lives within a realm both ramshackled and polished, a sound few can pull off without sounding forced or inauthentic. Check the entire album below!
