RIYL: Early-mid 00s indietronica with Com Truise mixed in

Label: Magical Garage Taste

I think I’m running slim on things to write about from Magical Garage Taste at this point in time, but I imagine there’ll be plenty more to write about in the future. thirteencolonies’ Shut God for a majority of its A side puts forth the stuff that you might have found in Her Space Holiday & The Postal Service… even Khonnor or Dntel maybe. To go out on a limb, even earlier Electric President. Disembodied voices, nearly unintelligible, exhale their words with melancholia throughout the track and later on, you feel like you may have traipsed in to Com Truise on accident. As this phase, let’s say, starts, the disembodied voice starts chanting “Shut God” and maybe “Shut up, God.” The track, on the whole, feels schizophrenic especially with the presence of the chanting. Side B’s a foray in to harsh noise, with a whimsical electric organ sounding away in to the smoky air and frankly, you’re just along for the ride. Listen to Shut God below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
