Label: Fort Evil Fruit

Is minimal sludge/doom metal a thing? Can it be a thing? Síoraí Geimhreadh’s Not a Room sounds like the rumblings of a monster in your closet – maybe the bass bumps serve as the pulses on the heart rate monitor while the drone represents the flatlining in-between. You think “any moment now, he’s going to take off.”  If, and when, this rocket of his takes off, I could see it leaving toxic fumes in its wake – a smog so thick it’d block out the sun in that area for a few weeks. When you see the green flames whip the concrete launchpad, it’d force all the radiated sludge cans nearby over to seep in to the earth. However, that doesn’t happen. Geimhreadh trods along at a snail’s pace, eventually leading in to a more forward drone. The second track’s residual bass flows under the thick guitar riffs like the Cuyahoga River. Listen to Not a Room below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
