RIYL: Aphex Twin, Gazelle Twin, Alex Painter, the Warriors soundtrack

Label: Anti-Ghost Moon Ray

Anti-Ghost Moon Ray, a UK label/imprint, has begun a new limited edition cassette series with all profits made going to a different charity¬†annually – which means, yes, if you liked this a ton you’ll have to wait until around this time next year for the next one. The first volume of the rather literal¬†Annual General Meeting includes work from artists such as Gazelle Twin, Alex Painter, Acquaintance and Bernholz. As the label eloquently puts it, this is “a generous and contemplative collection of diverse electronic music, ranging from dreamy, crystalline ambience to overdriven tape canons and experimental dance.” If I had to pick a favorite track from this, it’d probably have to be Rosen’s “Illim” or Benge’s “Septobel.” For the first volume, Anti-Ghost Moon Ray will be donating all the profits to Doctors without Borders / Med√©cins¬†Sans Fronti√®res (who unfortunately had one of their hospitals bombed last year by the United States…). Listen to the Bandcamp stream of the compilation below and see what you think of it. Cheers!

The Details
