RIYL: acid techno, Huerco S.
Label: SEAGRAVE
2016’s not putting on the brakes… Carrie Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, was just rushed to the hospital after having a stroke. I wish her well, and hope she comes out of it ok. The year’s been nuts, in a sense of pop culture and perhaps in your own life. Mine has been, at least. Music is a tried and true solace during times like these, where it seems like the world is being pulled apart at the seams. Somed Tapes Vol. I hearkens back to the days of indietronica (“438,” and “235”) and the heyday of slimy acid techno (“Eseacid2,” and “Vagostabil”), and even offers up more “traditional” sounding piano tracks albeit with a twist (“447” and “Piano Piano”). The closer “Music for Train 2” sounds like it could’ve been an odd-end from Kode9’s latest effort Nothing. Listen to Somed Tapes Vol. I below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
