RIYL: fall dinners

Label: BARO

I got to this right on time. Released today, SIGINT is the latest tape from the excellent BARO label based in Chicago. Jacob Kart’s SIGINT is something for colder days, and fortunately those are coming up on us fast. The cover for SIGINT shows a snapshot of brutal mountains and a dead (probably dormant, but for the sake of narrative they’re DEAD) forest comprising the carpet of this natural home. A black sun looms over these things lacking any semblance of vitality, and the wind (read:air), the locus point of which all life floats around, blusters about with no recipient. Each of the tracks on SIGINT are considerably minced and the end result on each is this homunculus, whose mind wants to pull off in to many different directions. You can’t help but feel with the right nudge, each could be sent off in to experimental noise, ambience, or a laid-back post-rock track (a la El Ten Eleven or K.C. Accidental). Listen to SIGINT below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
