RIYL: experimental dub techno
Label: Fractal Meat Cuts
Do you have some fun plans on how you’re going to be celebrating New Year’s Eve? Are you going to be in control of the decks (i.e. iPod) at whatever party you’re going to or, God help you, a party you’re hosting at humble abode? Midi-Drum Compositions-1 might have some ideas for you to include. Each of these tracks was done in one take, but even with this fact in mind they sound so polished. What you’ll hear on here is an intriguing take on dub techno and house music – both categories that are party ready. dtub’s compositions are reminiscent of Actress – think Splazsh. These disjointed takes feel a bit ahead of their time, but it’s better to be early than late. Not the most accessible, but if you’re here your palate’s ready. These are for a hip, young crowd. Listen to Midi-Drum Compositions-1 below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
Made and performed by Jaxson Payne using the dtub custom midi-drum kit. All tracks played live in one take. No overdubs, loops or backing tracks.
