RIYL: [adult swim], Ghostly International, Tycho
Label: BARO Records
I don’t know about you (and perhaps this really only applies to us statesiders), but I’m already over this election-related news. Clinton this, Trump that, blahblahblah. It’s a blessing that music can take us away from bearing the weight of the world, if but for a moment.¬†BARO is a label you’ll need to be keeping your eyes on, and as far as I’m aware this is the third-to-last thing they have available… for the moment.¬†High Passes is an odd medium between the sound collage wizardry of Animal Collective, the dubby jazz informed compositions of Tortoise, and a host of Ghostly International artists – namely, and of course this is my opinion, Shigeto and Tycho.¬†High Passes is a great cure for those who are suffering from high blood pressure with all the deplorable news leaking in to the world.¬†High Passes is a chilled mist to glaze your skin with in the midst of this boiling world. Listen to¬†High Passes below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
