RIYL: drone

Label: Psychic Troubles Tapes

It’s starting to get late where I am, so perhaps this is mildly fueled by exhaustion. Eventide is a lovely, alluring drone album cut to a tight four tracks, but three of those extend over ten minutes so length is not something you’re getting shortchanged on. “Last Light,” the album’s shortest track, sounds like an ascent to the pearly gates filtered through a grainy VHS tape. All the clouds, of course, are white as snow but exude a golden aura as you slowly go up – you take the time to soak in your surroundings. “An Evening in Chrome” sounds like it could’ve played in The Warriors’ creepy loading screens. “Ojén” sounds like the spiritual reprise to “Last Light” and the outro, “Nightcap (Sleep)” does its job, in both name and placement. “Nightcap (Sleep)” is the somber end to a feverish droning dreamscape. Listen to Eventide below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
