After a hefty day of errand-running yesterday, I’m finally set up in my new place here in New York. I feel as if I’m a broken record (no pun intended) at this point with how many times I believe I’ve extolled this, but listening to ambient music is one of my favorite ways to decompress. As you probably know, there are many types of ambient music and English artist Sun Curves would probably spit out toward the drone/spacier side. You can practically envision yourself in orbit around the earth as Stuart Glover’s strings and horns soar and flourish. As Auditory Field Theory points out, this album “draws one deep into its narcotic haze and lulls you softly amongst the swelling ambience.”  The cover showcases a shimmering body of dreamy blue water and it looks like it could’ve been taken on a completely different planet. I suppose there’s a reason it’s called Nearly Real. Listen to Nearly Real below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
