RIYL: Burial

Label: Noorden

NOORDEN‘s back with yet another boundary-crossing release. Evitceles’ Risingvanity, from what I can hear within the preview at press time, is equal parts Burial, Maurizio, Stave and GAS. In a literal month, Risingvanity will be unleashed in its entirety so we can hear all of its intricacies. Only a minute and twenty seconds of each track gets its time in the light – at one point, you can even hear some hip-hop sampled… although, it’s quite buried within the mix. Risingvanity, as NOORDEN also cares to point out, bounces between leftfield ambience and bass-heavy minimalist techno. NOORDEN also describes all of these as “cosmic’n’dusty.” Risingvanity feels like a release that’s meant for the winter months, but perhaps that’s just the pretentious music snob in me imposing that quality upon it. In the meantime, you can knock back some cold drinks to adjust for the hot exterior conditions. Listen to the Risingvanity preview below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
