Dosis Letalis, Lethal Dose in English, grows on you. It’s more like cancer than, say, an overdose in that sense. Its effects on you, the listener, are not immediately apparent. In These Troubled Times… starts off with its title track, which is a mix of a rocket taking off and a babbling brook. The title track (the release in totality) has much in common with hermit’s Self Hate I wrote up the day before. Self Hate was using music to put a magnifying glass upon yourself, instead of allowing music to be your vehicle for escape from this plane of existence. Taking that in to account, it’s ironic that what you hear sounds like a rocket taking off, or a plane leaving the tarmac, when in fact this cements you in place. The rumbling continues through out the first and second tracks, but by the time the third track rolls around you begin hearing true destruction. The speck of hope which hints at leaving this place is snuffed out as slowly as it appeared on your radar, making it all the more agonizing. Listen to In These Troubled Times… below via the Bandcamp player and see what you think of it. Cheers!
